Synopsis |
A new clinic for the rich is established in Moscow. Anatoliy Savchuk (also known as Tolya M.D.), a celebrated bonesetter from the backwoods of Ukraine, is supposed to become one of the stars of the future clinic. Tolya M.D. (43) has been living a complicated life (army, prison, monastery). His mood is unpredictable. Since the first minutes in the clinic, Tolya M.D. plunges into subversive activities. He dislikes everything – Moscow; the way the clinic functions; his colleagues; rich clients. Tolya M.D. follows his own way in life. He enjoys drinking at his workplace. He is a talented and very experienced doctor. In the same time he is rude, oblivious of people's feelings. Tolya's method is to force his patient to do something that he or she couldn't do for a very long time. To solve medical puzzles through the conflict with the patient. To demolish the patient's status. Tolya M.D. is the complete opposite to Gregory House. Tolya is extremely sociable, active, enjoys lecturing people and discourse on fate and sin. But all this is just a method for accomplishing the major goal – to cure a patient. The harshest methods will be used for solving these puzzles. For instance, a rich patient, in order to overcome his disease, will be forced to find a poor man with the same diagnosis. A banker with a chronic back injury will dig a pit in a hospital backyard… Not to be forgotten that Tolya M.D. likes sharing a drink with a patient – that's the easiest way to find the truth. |
