England, London, May of 1899. The death of old Lord Robert Understand gathers together in the family estate his three bachelor nephews, not grieving much about the dead. There nephews find out that after the death of their rich uncle they receive an enormous legacy – one million of pound sterling. However, they are to receive it only in case they marry three ladies, living in the estate of the old Lord. In case nephews do not meet the conditions, their legacy will pass to an old friend of Lord, a retired Russian General.
The task was complicated by the short terms: only 2 days to get married. So nephews use all fair means or foul to charm three “golden brides”, despite of their rival-general intrigues, so clumsy grooms move from one “prospective” bride to another, courting all at once. They disarm the rivals, curse their uncle’s extravagance, run around the house, scaring their “darlings” and servants.
But when finally all characters of the intrigue think they succeed, another surprise of Uncle Robert comes out. It turns to be that the whole affair with marriage was just a point at issue between late uncle and Russian General. So nephews would never see the legacy if it were not for the interference of the dead.
