We're glad to please you with good news that the films presented in Ukraine by Aurora Group, were nominated at the British and Spanish Film Academy, and some of them will be screened in the non-competitive program at the Berlin Festival.

Especially distinguished is Pedro Almodovar’s film "The Skin I Live In" that tells about a genius plastic surgeon, Dr. Ledgarde (Antonio Banderas), who by daring genetic experiments creates artificial human skin, and uses his invention to take revenge on the guy who raped his daughter many years ago. The picture is a BAFTA nominee in Film Not in the English Language category.

And it looks like the Spanish Academy of Art and Film after several years of variance has signed a secret armistice with Pedro Almodovar by mentioning his film in 16 categories. Thus, the "The Skin I live in" is currently an indisputable leader among the contenders for the award "Goya".

Another "shock-worker" regarding to the number of nominations at the Spanish Film Academy was the picture of Kike Maillo "Eva” (date of release in Ukraine 19.01.2012).

The film narrates about an engineer, who is engaged in an unusual project - the creation of a robot child. After moving to his brother’s family, Alex meets their daughter Eva, and communication with her unexpectedly changes his approach to the development of the project he is working on. And the journey with an intriguing climax begins for them.

Daniel Bruhl, who is the whole show in this movie, will compete with Antonio Banderas at the category Best Actor. In any case, the picture occupies an unspoken third place with its 12 nominations, which you must admit, is a great achievement for a debut film of Kike Maillo.

As for the Berlin festival, the film of Angelina Jolie, "In the Land of Blood and Honey" (date of release in Ukraine 01.03.2012) will be screened in the non-competitive program Berlinale Special. The plot of the film is about a love story of a Serb soldier and Bosnian Muslim girl who gets to the Serbian concentration camp.
