On the far end of forestry live the father, Alexander Ilyich Culbaba, and his daughter Irene.

This part of the forest is inhabited only by old-timers, and people are always welcomed here. Anyone in need of help always gets a shelter for the night and a good meal here. Residents of nearby town Yasnogorodka – Efimovich, the chairman of a forest district and direct chief of Alexander, and Kolya, local policeman and admirer of Irene, are also frequent quests here.

The newcomer is Victor – the journalist and an amateur hunter. Irene rescues him from the bear who roamed in the neighboring villages. Being attracted to the local scenery and the beauty of Irene Victor decides to stay and become the huntsman, an apprentice to Alexander.

Each two episodes are a separate adventure story: rescue operation for the runaway recruit, search for a missing child near a swamp, story of a “Grandma Vera’s” treasure hidden in local forest, chasing the shooter, hired to eliminate the politician hunting in the area – all adventures are tied together with private lives of characters – attraction, jealousy, new meetings and revelations.
