Dina is an ex-figure skater who works as dancing tutor in orphanage. Once a new orphan girl Lada arrived whose parents died in a car accident. The girl was very keen in dancing and the sparkle of friendship and mutual sympathy was instant. When Dina learned that Lada was tortured by inmates of the orphanage, she decided to adopt the girl…

Dina also has her “skeleton in the closet”: several years ago she had awful breakdown – she fell during the figure skating tournament, broke her leg, tore her tendon, and as a result she had to quit professional sport. Thanks to Lada and her interest in figure skating, Dina decides to step on the ice once again. And as the result at ice staking ring Dina meets Gleb who soon becomes her husband.

The next day after the marriage ceremony Dina confesses to Gleb that Lada is an adopted child, and Dina is her tutor, but she wishes to adopt her and to become her mother. That news doesn’t seem to be pleasant for Gleb. Little by little Gleb’s attitudes to Lada changes because he had dreams about his own kids. Lada feels those changes and her behavior gets worse. After she was informed about Dina’s pregnancy she punched Dina in the stomach in the fit of hysteria. Infuriated Dina takes Lada back to the orphanage, but stress makes girl’s legs paralyzed. Dina and Gleb are trying to live blocking out of their memory everything about adopted girl, but unexpectedly Dina had a miscarriage after two months of pregnancy. After she got rid of another’s child, Dina lost her own.

Dina accepts her loss as punishment for her sin – the spurn of Lada, and she decided to get Lada back into the family. Gleb was absolutely against such decision and this tears them apart. Gleb leaves to see his parents seeking comforting, but instead he learns shocking truth that he himself was adopted as a baby.

The shock of such news makes Gleb reconsider his conflict with Lada who calls him one day telling that Lada is going to be adopted by some American family, and in the memory of their relationships she asks him for help her keep the girl. Gleb rushes to the airport with the mission impossible to apologize to Lada and convince her to stay with him and Dina. He left as single man who lost his beloved, but returns to his wife with their own child – Lada.
